Hi, welcome to my little corner of the internet!
Professionally, I’m a writer who specializes in writing about complex family structures (I come from a fusion family that was a little Leave it to Beaver, a little Jerry Springer and a dash of the Hunger games). chronic illness and medical induced PTSD. I recently graduated with my MFA in Creative Nonfiction, so I’m working on shaping that up to publish. My writing also includes published essays about medical PTSD, talking to doctors when you have a chronic illness, and other things about living the chronic illness life.
I’m also a huge disability advocate who crochets for NICUs and bereavement packets for stillborns.
Personally, I wear many hats. I’m a wife to a Danish guy, I’m a daughter to two people who have been divorced for thirty years, a stepdaughter, a sister, a daughter in law, sister in law and an aunt. My family is pretty jam packed.
For fun I’m a huge bookworm and I love to crochet more than just NICU and bereavement stuff… each of my nieces and nephews (16 and counting!) get their own blanket. I love watching medical dramas (The Pitt was SO good), corny made for TV movies, and I’ve seen every episode of the Golden Girls more times than I can count. Steel Magnolias is my hands down favorite movie and I’m definitely a Ouiser.
